At Léo et Violette, we craft our bags with you in mind first. All our products are conceived and designed in Paris, in our studios on rue Sainte-Anne. Quite often, an idea for a style comes from a wish that you have shared with us through the many messages that we receive throughout the year.
All our bags are crafted in Naples, Italy in a family workshop founded in the 1980s. Each stage of production is carried out according to standards that honor the craftsmanship of leather goods. The cutting of the leather, the staining of the edge, the assembly: so many steps which are carried out by hand by skilled artisans.
Our leathers come exclusively from hides recovered from the food industry. We source exclusively from tanneries in Italy, France and Spain. For each supplier we will search for specific qualities that will ensure that the material chosen corresponds in all respects to the products we aim to manufacture. In addition to the qualitative aspect of the suppliers, we also choose them for their environmental commitments. This is why we are offering you more and more vegetable-tanned products, made with a less harmful and totally natural process. Our grained leathers and certain small leather goods are offered in this vegetable tanning.
Always on the hunt for chances to improve our production towards more eco-responsibility, this year we are partnering with Adapta, a company that upcycles forgotten leather from major leather goods houses. Cutting waste, reusing, working in a closed cycle: so many ideas that we bring you for conscious leather goods. Last but not least: all our bags are handcrafted in our workshop near Naples. Them and us, it's already been 8 years and it doesn't stop there. Working with a family workshop means giving you valuable know-how. For us, it is unthinkable to produce anywhere other than Italy or Spain, to maintain such a level of quality in manufacturing.
Occasionally our standard models are not available until two or three weeks after your purchase. The reason ? Prevent overproducing, and therefore creating excess stocks. We submit orders every two months with quantities that match demand. Our workshop thus has the time to craft your bag with care.
Our deepest satisfaction: seeing you with your Léo et Violette piece several years after your purchase. For this, we give the greatest care to the selection of leather, metal parts, materials used. So that you can carry your bag for years. The design of the products follows this same logic: the bucket bag, the box bag, Le Briefcase are all forms of refined and lasting products that endure the years.
